1.Legal challenges ensue as prorogation of UK parliament approaches
Legal challenges in London, Scotland and Northern Ireland are under way, hoping to prevent Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s plan to suspend Parliament and for a no-deal Brexit.
Several legal cases have begun in the UK challenging the government’s decision to suspend Parliament for a month.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s opponents say the suspension means there’s not enough time to properly debate Brexit – increasing the chances of the UK leaving the EU without a deal on October 31st.
The prorogation of Parliament is set to begin as early as September 9th and no later than the 12th.
